current events

.....the ARC campus was open early this morning. I didn't show up until noon. Lots of classwork to do,
but I needed to run some errands. The usual, uneventful, everyday "boring" things that need attention ....
gas station ( third price increase in 5 days ), drop off dry cleaning, get a new garden sprinkler and grass seed,
then to the post office for stamps. Some people still use stamps to mail letters made from paper to keep in touch. Yes, I know it is the 21st century, new decade new technology etc.

I could be using use email, texting, twitter or some other critter to be interactive with the bulk of society. But there is something lost in the immediateness of instant communication. There was a time that we had to wait weeks, days or hours to get information. Now it is at the speed of light and some think that is still too slow.

The optimal solution would be to get a message before the other person sent it. Now that would be the social media event that would truly save all of us some time.
